The Joy of Hiking, Thanks to the Lifts!

Discover our breathtaking views

Don't wait any longer to enjoy these incredible landscapes—we're waiting for you at the La Rosière!

The Roc Noir and its 2333m are the starting points of many trails. Just a few minutes away, you can discover the Fort de La Redoute and its breathtaking view on the Mont Blanc and the Little St Bernard Pass. You can then descend via the Chemin des militaires and enjoy the views on the Combe des Moulins. The more seasoned hikers will follow the crest by taking the sentier de la Crête des Embrasures, and follow with the ascent of the Mont Valaisan at an altitude of 2891m.

How to be equipped for hiking?

The mountain is a place where conditions can be harsh and rapidly changing. To avoid any mishaps and make sure you enjoy your getaway, here are a few tips on the essentials to bring on a hike!

Good hiking shoes: wandering around all day gets tiring for your feet! Investing in comfortable hiking shoes is a guarantee to spend a pleasant hike.

Water: can't repeat that enough: get hydrated ! Water, water, and even more water!

A rain jacket and a hat: the weather can change very quickly in altitude, so make sure to check the weather beforehand, but always be prepared come rain or shine!

Snacks: yomping over the summits will get you hungry! And let's be honest, nothing beats a bite of local cheese and sausage to celebrate a great ascent.

Sunscreen: the sun can be very harsh up there, even when he plays hide and seek. So make sure you protect your skin with sunscreen.

Dogs, even on a leash, are not allowed on the ski lifts at La Rosière*. Their presence could disrupt our mountain ecosystem (destruction of nests, spread of germs, etc.).
* With the exception of livestock guard dogs and service dogs for people with disabilities.
