Espace San Bernardo: France's 1st ski area with certified piste mileage!
A certified number of kilometres of slopes!
Since 2015, Domaines Skiables de France has been recommending that ski resorts specify their method for calculating the length of their slopes.
La Rosière has decided to have the straight-line length of all its marked slopes in the Franco-Italian ESPACE SAN BERNARDO ski area verified by an independent international expert.
To this end, the ski area has commissioned an on-site audit from an independent certification body.
The results show that the ESPACE SAN BERNARDO comprises 156 km of downhill ski runs (excluding cross-country ski trails, toboggan runs and permanent ski touring routes). It ranks 13th amongst the largest ski areas in France and 34th worldwide.
Track mileage method
Unlike many other ski areas, the advertised length of 160 km for the Espace San Bernardo was therefore accurate. Using Method A (direct route), the ski area already had 161 km of runs, including the French cross-country ski trails and the permanent ski touring routes.
