La Rosière – Espace San Bernardo ski area ensures total transparency and guarantees you a verified length of runs!
Since 2015, the Domaines Skiables de France (DSF) advises ski resorts to specify the method they use for calculating the length of runs in their published communications. According to the DSF circular, there are two methods of calculation.
Despite this recommendation, only a few specify their method of calculation in their communications.
LA ROSIÈRE decided to confront reality and have the total length of it’s ski runs on the Franco-Italian ski area verified by an independent, international expert. The chosen method was the straight-line distance, which is measured down the centre of the marked slope.
LA ROSIÈRE entrusted this fieldwork audit to an approved certification body which has already accredited the biggest ski areas in the world such as Saalbach, Kitzbühel and Vail.
The results of the study show that ESPACE SAN BERNARDO ski area will count 152km of runs (excluding cross-country ski trails, sledging areas, and permanent ski touring trails) from Winter 2018-2019 with the opening of Mont-Valaisan. For this expert, LA ROSIÈRE - ESPACE SAN BERNARDO is the 13th BIGGEST SKI AREA in France and the 34th in the world.
And before Mont-Valaisan Extension in 2018?
In contrast to many other ski areas, Espace San Bernardo accurately counted 160kms of runs. With method A (straight line distance), Espace San Bernardo already counted more than 160km of runs (161 km), including French cross-country ski trails and permanent ski touring trails.
